Liquid EPDM Rubber Sealant Trowel Grade

EPDM Rubber Sealant is a two component 100% EPDM product which is liquid applied and cures at ambient temperatures. This is a trowel grade version of our Liquid Rubber Liquid EPDM which can be installed in vertical applications. It is also designed for use as a heavy duty sealant to protect against water intrusion on protective enclosures; as a formed in place tank liner for chemical resistance or to create custom gaskets to seal out water and a wide range of chemicals and acids in specialized equipment. The EPDM Chemistry is “designed” to tolerate harsh environments – temperatures from -60°F to 400°F; climates from dry desert to tropical rainforests and marine; immersion in many solvents, salt, caustic and acidic solutions. The main weakness of the EPDM Chemistry is that the polymer will absorb oils, fats waxes and solvents such as Mineral Spirits. This absorption results in swelling of the polymer.
Suitable for use in extreme environments and will tolerate:
Temperature ranges from -60° to 400°F
High humidity, live steam and total immersion
High salt concentrations
Alcohols and Polar solvents
Many acids up to 50% concentrations
Liquids with a pH up to 12
Surface Prep
Remove dirt, loose material and oils. Tightly adhering rust need not be primed. Surface to be coated should be dry of moisture. Use an abrasive or wire brush to lightly rough-up smooth or glossy surfaces.
Mixing Parts A and B
Measure equal volumes of Parts A and B into a separate container and mix together using a drill mixer. Repeatedly scrape sides of container to make sure all the material is mixed uniformly.
Application
Use a wide spatula or mortar trowel to transfer Sealant from mixing container to surface to be coated. Spread material with a notched spatula in order to get a uniform film thickness. Go over the notched Sealant with a straight spatula in order to smooth the film.
The Sealant will waterproof immediately upon application. Freezing temperatures will not damage the product.
